When I was younger and had more time, I made Christmas cards every year, for all my friends and family and teachers…everyone. I would make upwards of fifty of them. Draw a cute picture, make colored copies, and glue ’em onto pre-made, store-bought cards. After enrolling in college, however, I rather lost the time to do all that. I hadn’t made a card in a long time.
Recently, one of my friends asked me to make a wedding card for her friends, and I did. I was nervous at first, but it was a good challenge and great opportunity – it was a lot of fun! This time, I made my own card and my own envelope, and I’ve fallen in love with the entire process. And all of this comes secondary to how grateful I am to be reminded of the power of real, honest love. It was one of those projects that made me very happy for people…just people. I can’t wait to make another card! Fifty might be overdoing it, though….
