In addition to drawing in my sketchbook, I love to write, and to take notes of all the little things that remind me of how life actually can be good, if you take the time to give it a chance. The following words came from small inspirational moments, and so I’m going to share them with you.
Magnet Poetry, from the locker in the art building:
Let their symphony make it rain
We do not elaborate after the whispers
Shine like a thousand visions
Wind and rain will sing of frantic light
“Ever singing, march we onward, victors in the midst of strife; joyful music leads us sunward, in the triumph song of life.” – Ode to Joy
“Let’s drive to the countryside, and leave behind some green-eyed lookalikes, so no one gets worried – no one.” – Fleet Foxes
“L’amour est un oiseau rebelle.” – “Love is a rebellious bird.”
“The wind whirling past our window sounds like a grand symphony. Inspiration, you are mine.” – Alyssa Guy
“She lay back slowly, laid her back on the good earth and felt it press her up toward the sky. The earth always offered you up to the sky. She lifted you, when all the time the People thought she pulled you down.” – The Hummingbird’s Daughter, by Luis Alberto Urrea.
“Ho jo na sha.” – “Walk in beauty.” – Navajo saying
